I am Going to be...

Okay, you played along and stuck it out.  Maybe you didn't officially let your voice be heard.  Maybe you quickly scrolled down and didn't think twice before hitting the comment button.  Maybe you don't really care...  But hey, I am about to make the big reveal and I am going to ask for audience participation....

drum roll and pixie dust please!

I am going to be

BELLE!

So if you are one of my commentors that guessed Belle, then way to go!  I was trying to be a bit sneaky and give some clues that could go either for Belle or another princess.  So, if you follow RunDisney on facebook your might remember back last summer when they announced the newest addition to the RunDisney family through a series of (stinkin' HARD) clues!  I knew I wouldn't be able to come up with anything that...well...thoughtful.  But, I figured I would unpack my clue selection. So if you want to know more then look below!

Clue #1
The actress that voiced my princess (hint, hint) has worked on at least two different Disney movies.

Explanation....
Many Disney princesses were voiced by actresses that appeared in more than one Disney Movie.  The answer to this clue is Paige O'hara has voiced Belle (in several Beauty and the Beast related movies/tv spots) but also made an appearance in the movie Enchanted!

Clue #2
You'd have to be the fool not to see that my princess wants to be a part of something more.
Explanation....

Alright here is where it could have been Ariel (Part of That World) or Belle (Belle Reprise).  You know, I guess a lot of princesses could fall into this category but, I was aiming it at Belle!  Wanna know what that whole "the fool"  thing was about?  Well, it was thoughtfully planted to nod at LeFou, Gaston's companion.  LeFou translated in French means "the madman" so in essence, you would have to be crazy, mad, or "the fool".

Clue #3
I got my work cut out for me as invent new clues.  You guys are crazy good at Disney trivia...

Here is clue #3:
My princess took a nod from princesses who went before her; walking in their footsteps, my princess had a ball.

Explanation....

Alright, part of the clue was in the start of the post.  I used the words invent and crazy in hopes to echo a character from the film, Belle's father, Maurice.  Maurice was an inventor and Gaston wanted to have him put away for being crazy (crazy old Maurice hey...crazy old Maurice!)  That was for all of you read between the lines people.  The clue works this way, Belle and Beast's ending sequence is actually the same dance sequence used by another princess/prince combo.  Aurora and Prince Phillip danced into a dream using the same footsteps.  So you see, Belle danced the same dance as Princess Aurora.  Check out this Youtube video and read more from IMDB about this neat trivia!

Clue #4
Alright, I am only going to stretch this out for a bit more.  After the 5th clue you'll get your wish to see what I will be in the Princess Half!

Clue #4:
If my princess went to college maybe she would be working on her nursing degree (she's good at saving wounded men).

Thanks for participating...you make this princesses heart ring!

Explanation....
Okay so I got a bit cryptic here too.  "You'll get your wish to see" refers to the magic mirror Beast uses to see anything he wishes to see (remember he gives this to Belle).  Also the "ring" was in reference to the sound my princess' homophone name makes in the word "BELL".  Okay for the clue, I was trying to create a diversion.  Sorry.  In the Little Mermaid, Ariel nurses Eric back to health. But, the wounded man I was talking about was beast (remember Belle tends to his wounds sustained in the wolf attack).

Clue #5
Okay, okay, this is the last clue!  Thanks for letting me have some fun!  This clue promises to be set apart from the rest.  Very different from the rest if you will!

Clue #5:

Explanation....

Recognize the highlight portion "very different from the rest" from anywhere?  Try this Beauty and the Beast favorite...

And maybe you were able to guess that the pixilated picture was indeed...
Beast's Castle!
Thanks for playing along!  Look for lots of new posts about the upcoming half.  I am working on a styleboard for my costume! Plus some training updates!

Love you all,
Princess BELLE!

Clue #5

Okay, okay, this is the last clue!  Thanks for letting me have some fun!  This clue promises to be set apart from the rest.  Very different from the rest if you will!

The actress that voiced my princess (hint, hint) has worked on at least two different Disney movies.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice: Girls Know how to Have a Good Time!

Okay, so here we are at the end of a long series.  Today we are talking pink, sparkles, romance, princesses, and fun!  Basically we are talking about a little girl's dream come true!  Let's start with something that I am look forward to the most!

The Grand Floridian is a beautiful place!  A little over a year ago I resolved that the next time I visited Disney I would be partaking in tea at this guest favorite!  Now, if I had a little girl you better believe I would hit up the My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea.  I use to throw some of the most amazing tea parties as a child (of course Oreo cookies were my idea of high class and the tea was Luzianne...a southern favorite!).  Disney goes for 2 lumps of sweetness with this tea because your little princess gets a doll (complete in Aurora dress with accessories) and a tiara, bracelet, fresh rose, and scrapbook page.  That is fun!  At around $60 a piece this is a special event for your princess that will go down in her favorites list!  Aurora herself might even sip by and there is a storyteller.  I am planning on doing tea at the Grand Floridian in February  (formal for grown up princesses) so I'll be posting about it soon!  If you are a grown princess beware the ugly green monster of envy as you watch this super cute video...

You have got to be kidding me! That looks like SO much fun!

There are so many fun things to do.  Things fit for a princess.  But what about a fashion designer.  If you are a girl then you probably dressed Barbies, babies, or paper dolls at some time in your life!  At Disney Design a Tee you play fashion director as you design your very own, one of a kind t-shirt!  I know from teaching kindergarten that kids are all about unique.  At this spot your budding fashionista can get her create on!

Well, I hope you have enjoyed this series.  I am working on some really great things including at few posts on the Princess Half Marathon which is just around the corner!  Have a great day and I'll see you all very soon!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice: This is how Ladies Have FUN!

Today we are talking fun things for your little princess to do and experience while at Disney World.  I'll be breaking down a few things from each park that I would want to do as a little girl.  I cannot wait until I have babies to take to Disney.  I am especially excited to see it through my little princess' eyes!  Let's start the party!

Magic Kingdom
There are so many princess friendly things at the Magic kingdom.  My absolute favorite of these is Wishes! Nighttime Spectacular.  I think it is because it is full of sparkling fireworks, my favorite Disney songs, and of course a tear jerking soundtrack.  I am always sure to get my favorite viewing spot and take in Wishes! when I am at the Magic Kingdom.  And while I have seen it more times than I can count, I am always in awe!  As Tinkerbell takes her flight over the watching crowd I hold my breath and make a wish.  If you can keep your princess awake for a late show (I know, beauty sleep is a must!) then this is one show you won't want to miss!

 Epcot
So off the beatin' princess path I am going to go with...The Seas with Nemo and Friends.  Okay here is my thought process:  I wanted to be a Marine Biologist (one among many career aspirations of my childhood) but, the secret on this dream was that I could be just like Ariel.  Flippin around she may not have gotten that far but, I had a vision that I would be an awesome scientist who lived life out, by, and in the ocean.  When my class went to the beach for a field trip in the 5th grade I was elated to see a real, live, sea cucumber. You would've thought the skipper pulled pure gold out of the ocean!  That was magic! Want more proof of this Little Mermaid marine connection?  My best friend LOVES manatees and who wouldn't?  Those things are amazing! At The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion you can see all sorts of sea life (like manatees and even dolphins...ooh and my favorite sea turtles).  Plus, you can also talk with Crush and Ride in a clamobile!  That's what I call a splashing good time...fins or feet!

 Disney's Hollywood Studios
Hands down...BEAUTY AND THE BEAST LIVE ONSTAGE!  I am without a doubt a HUGE fan of Beauty and the Beast!  I love musicals.  This on stage representation is so much fun.  It includes all of the favorite songs from the movie.  From the brightly colored costumes and sets to the singing and dancing everyone (even Dad) will be entertained!  Take your Belle to the ball and have a fun time with Beast, Belle, and an absolutely annoyingly charming Gaston!  I am all excited just thinking about it!

 Disney's Animal Kingdom
Finding Nemo the Musical. Another musical...sorry.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show!  It is probably in the running for #1 favorite thing at Disney World!  I've written a ton of posts on this so you can use the search bar for reviews and more.  Basically, this show tells the story of Finding Nemo in music form.  You'll feel like you've been to Broadway.  It's funny, sad, happy, and there's an ice cream stand within eye sight as you exit (they are everywhere I know but, I always seem to take advantage after the show).  That sounds like the perfect equation for little girls!  Your little darling is going to love the songs and sights, I guarentee it!

Downtown Disney
Can you say Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?  I can!  I am all about hair and makeup (makeup mostly)!  At the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique your little girl can make a transformation from princess in street clothes to legit Disney princess.  Dresses and accessories can be purchased but I have seen people bring their own dress and just do the hair and makeup.  I would have loved to do this as a child...who are we kidding???...I would love to do this now!  Plus Mom's and fellow bath lovers, there is a shop called Basin which I plan on TEARING UP for an after half marathon bath (Is it wrong that I make promises with my legs to finish long runs? I think not!).  Stock up while you are romping around in princess land!  Treat yourself!

Alright, we'll be wrapping up this series soon.  Check back to see some experiences that your diva won't want to miss!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice: Eating Like a Lady!

Alright, it is time to turn our attention to the ladies.  I personally feel like Disney can be enjoyed by all children but, I do see that a large amount of Disney World is geared for little princesses of the world.  So, with that said, I am looking to some of the traditional and well known little girl favorites but, I am also going to be talking about a few of my princess picks.  Let's get started today with some divine eating fit for any little diva!

Magic Kingdom
The obvious choice is to eat with the princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table.  As an adult princess I absolutely love this experience.  If you don't know how it works then here's the whole thing in a nutshell:  your meal begins with a photograph with the hostess Cinderella.  After this you are called to your waiting table where Cinderella's fellow princess pals come to each table to chat, snap photos, and sign autographs.  Each princess makes their way around while you eat a wonderful meal.  There's a special ceremony for your souvenir wishing star where princess receive a magic wand and princes receive a sword.  Meals include a souvenir photograph of you with Cinderella.  Don't forget your camera and take advantage of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique before your time at Cinderella's Royal Table!

I love Tony's Town Square.  There is something romantic about it.  I think every little girl has a place in their heart for a love story.  This restaurant is straight out of the movie Lady and the Tramp.  It almost feels like you'll see Lady and Tramp spaghetti kiss and all!  I love that you feel like you are in the movie.  I hope your princess will find Tony's as lovely as I do!

Epcot
Akershus is a princess favorite but today I am focusing on dessert first.  Princesses can eat dessert when they want (plus...also,  they have sandwiches...but who would want that when there are all those sweets around).  The Boulangerie Patisserie has a simply divine selection of French pastries and more that you cannot resist!  I would feel so elegant eating this especially in a Belle dress!

Disney's Hollywood Studios
Even princesses love pizza.  That is why I am recommending a tried and true kid favorite Pizza Planet.  Straight out of Toy Story this restaurant gives you yummy pizza and a kid friendly environment.  In a planet where pizza rules...little girls will be tickled pink!

Disney's Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom has a lot to offer!  What little girl doesn't like drama?  The Rainforest Cafe provides all the drama your little diva can take!  From thunderstorms to animals all over the place.  I know this could be a little boy's favorite too but, little girls of today are all about action!  Why not have that action and eat something yummy too?

   SNACK ATTACK!
ice cream
chocolate
premium mickey bars
the most adorable cupcakes EVER
chocolate
pastries
chocolate
did I mention chocolate?

What are your favorite park eats?  I am going to be doing a post later about resort dining so keep an eye out princesses!

Snakes, Snails, and Puppydog Tails:Boys Just Wanna Have Fun!

Click to read up on the knight package at Disney parks blog

What little boy doesn't want to have fun?  From getting dirty in the mud to dressing like a hero, Disney World let's your little boy be a boy!  We've already taken a look at places to eat and have fun little boys style so today we'll be wrapping it up with the overall experience factor.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique doesn't exactly scream BOYS!  We'll there is a side that you might not know about this boutique that transforms it into a BOYtique. I am talking about the knight package.  The littlest of boys will enjoy a spiky confettified hair do and sword  and shield too!  Move over little girls, you aren't the only ones who can dress up Disney style!

What little boy wouldn't love sleeping in pirate style?  Disney magic puts the rrrrrr in resort stay.  At the Carribean Beach Resort Pirate rooms come with pirate ship beds and pirate decor!  I think it would be a lot of fun to stay in one of these rooms (not to mention the awesome pirate pool!).
Check out this awesome room tour by MousePlanetMark

This is the last part of the series dedicated to the guys so stay tuned for the little girls edition coming up soon!
